Problem Joining Wireless Network

I remember the first time that I ever connected my wireless network, and attempted to join three computers so that I could transfer files back and forth easily. Well I was way in over my head. I could not for the life of me get these computers to see one another. I had big problems joining my wireless network.

My frustration is probably the same as yours is right now. So let's get right down to business and figure out how to resolve the problem you are having trying to join your wireless network.

Let's look at configuring a wireless network. This involves setting up a wireless router or access point and installing wireless adapters on the networked computers. I am sure you have gotten this far already but I want to just go over this real quick. It's important that the wireless router is placed in a central location. This is because the computers closer to the router or access point will have a much faster network speed then the ones' that are further away.

The best thing you can do is to use a Wireless Network Setup Wizard. It will take you through all of the steps of the configuration of the wireless network settings. This involves a wireless network name, the authentication and encryption method, and a strong WPA-PSK. It will then continue to write the configuration as a set of Extensible Markup Language (XML) files on a Universal Serial Bus (USB) flash drive (UFD). All you are going to need to do is plug the UFD into other wireless devices in the home or small office that support Windows Connect Now. If your other wireless devices support Windows Connect Now then it will automatically read the settings from the XML files that were stored on the UFD and configure themselves with the same settings as the computer on which the Wireless Network Setup Wizard was initially run. I was absolutely amazed at how quickly I was able to solve my problem of joining my wireless network. It honestly took me minutes to do.

Save yourself the trouble and use the wireless network setup wizard to help you to join your wireless networks without any further problems. Because I am sure that you don't want to go bald over a wireless network.
