Wireless Ethernet TroubleshootingLet's begin with some wireless Ethernet troubleshooting tips that will resolve your issues with your connection. The first troubleshooting tip is to swap Ethernet cables, many times it can be a bad Ethernet cable that is causing your problems. So get a cable that you know is working and unplug your Ethernet cable from your computer and the jack as well. Then turn on your computer and start up the internet browser, if you get online then you know that the cable was the issue. If that didn't do it, then try swapping the Ethernet jacks. If you don't have one laying around then you should purchase one. You will need to upplug the jack that you are currently using from the wall and then plug in your Ethernet cable to the new jack. Again you will need to check your connection by turning on your computer and starting up your internet browser, if you are online then great if not I am sorry and let's move on to the next wireless Ethernet troubleshooting tip. Okay are you ready for this because it's going to be a bit more technical. You are going to disable the Internet Connection Sharing. 1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections. 2. Right-click the connection you wish to disable, then click Disable. You can always manually disable the Internet connection sharing to your connection, by removing the external wireless card from your computer or by unplugging your Ethernet cable from its jack. Now if you are still not connected then you can try clearing your browser's history and temp files. This can be down through the Internet Options that you will find on your browsers toolbar under Tools. Wireless Ethernet troubleshooting is generally the easiest of the wireless network problems that you can be having. But this doesn't mean that it is not frustrating because it is. It's important that you try your best not to get too mad because this generally will prevent you from fixing it. Sometimes the best thing too do is walk away and do something else for a little while. You can watch a movie or play with the kids for a bit to cool off and then try again once you have a cool head. This is probably the last thing you want to do right now, but trust me it will help you, and it will save your computer from getting smashed against the wall. Try it, not throwing your computer, but walking away.
