Put down the hammer, you don't need to smash your card to pieces. Not yet anyways. There are some things that you can do that may just fix your problem. Trust me I know your frustration when you are trying to fix your wireless network.
You wireless network card problem can be an easy fix because its often some things that are commonly overlooked.
So this is going to sound silly but trust me on this. I want you to check your wireless network adapter card and make sure that it is in the correct PCI slot. If it is then make sure it is securely in the slot. You don't know how often that people are afraid to push it all the way down because they think it will break. It can, so you will need to put enough pressure on it that it will go all the way in, but not to much pressure that it will break. They are more durable then we think, but there is always the risk of breaking it. Your best bet is to take it out of the slot and then reinsert it.
If all of this is correct then the last thing that you can do is to check that you have the correct driver installed for the network card. This often happens because you rush through the installation and don't read the driver correctly. It happens to the best of us. But it's a simple fix so it's no big deal. You will just need to install the correct driver. Another common fix is by updating the drivers. Many times new updates for drivers are frequently released, so you need to check with the manufacture and see if the version that you are currently using is the newest one. And if it's not then you will need to update it. And while you are at it you should update the software as well. It doesn't hurt, and may save you trouble later on. Wireless network card problems are a big pain in the butt, and many times you will go through a huge list of fixes before you actually find the one that will fix your network card problem. It's important that you try to stay as calm as you possibly can because the more angry you get the harder it will become to fix your wireless network card problem, or any other wireless connection problem.
