Wireless Signal ProblemsThere are many different wireless signal problems that can occur. So let's take a look at what some of these problems may be. There are many different scenarios that can cause you to have no signal at all, a continuously dropped signal or a very weak signal. No matter what type of wireless signal problems you might be having it is still very frustrating, but most of it will have a fix. Interference: Interference often happens from your everyday household devices - cell phones, microwaves, and your cordless phone. The easiest fix for your cordless phone interfering with your wireless signal is to change to a lower mhz, so instead of using a 2.5mhz cordless phone you will need to use a 900ghz. There are other ways to work around these other interferences. Scattering: Scattering is when a wireless signal hits an irregular shaped object. Because the object has many irregular angels this causes the signal to bounce off a go into many different directions. This could happen when a signal hits a mountainside, hills or large buildings. Absorption: Absorption is basically a blockage such as a building. What happens is that your signal has no way around this large brick building you're your signal gets blocked or absorbed by the building. Refraction: Refraction is when your wireless signal bends and as a result of this it will go through a medium of higher density than its origin. This often happens when your signal is forced to travel through industrial areas. Reflection: Reflection happens when the wireless signal will bounce off of objects. This is not necessarily a bad thing, nor is it a good thing. It's good for the reason that you don't need to rely on line or sight service, because the signal is transmitted and bounced off of large buildings. The reason that reflection can be bad is because you basically have very limited control over where the signal will go. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't. Diffraction: Diffraction is very similar to refraction, but they are not the same. Diffraction is when your wireless signal hits a large object and then the signal will slow down, but it will continue to go around the building. It does not get stuck as it does in refraction. But this is going to drastically slow down your signal, so it's going to be extremely weak.
